Kathmandu, Nepal · Launched 4 July 2026
A WordPress site rebuilt on Next.js and Sanity for a Kathmandu tour operator — 230 crawled URLs reduced to 93 clean ones, 26 broken pages fixed, and the first machine-readable summary published by any operator in the field we measured.

Why they came to us
Nepal Holiday Makers has been selling trekking, cultural tours and pilgrimage from Durbarmarg since 1999, and is a PATA member registered with the Nepal Tourism Board. The credibility is real and hard-won.
None of it was legible to a machine. The site published no structured data, so nothing told a search engine this was a travel agency in Kathmandu rather than a blog about Nepal. Sixty-two percent of pages had no description. Twenty-six pages were broken and still linked.
Their strongest bet is the India and Bangladesh pilgrimage market — a segment almost nobody in Nepal builds dedicated landing pages for. That bet needed a site that could carry it.
1999
Founded by a hotelier who moved into travel. The “since 1999” line on the mark is the strongest single asset the business owns.
2007
Registered formally, rebranded to Nepal Holiday Makers, and took the Durbarmarg office it still trades from.
2013
Pilgrimage begins with Kailash Mansarovar Yatra — the segment that now defines the growth strategy.
2026
Twenty-seven years in, the website was still WordPress and largely invisible to anything that reads a page for meaning.
What they sell
Pilgrimage is the segment the whole strategy rests on. These are their own guests and their own photographs — the package pages are built to carry them at full width rather than crop them into a grid.

Jomsom
The flight in. Pilgrimage travel is sold on logistics as much as devotion — who meets you, and when.

Kali Gandaki
The deepest gorge on earth, and the reason the route sells itself to travellers who came for the temple.

Muktinath
Sacred to Hindus and Buddhists both. The single highest-intent search term this operator competes for.

The guests
Their own travellers, their own photography. Nothing on the site is stock, which is rarer in this market than it should be.
The identity system
The mark combines the outline of Nepal with a traveller moving through it. A full lockup leads wide headers; compact and mark-only versions hold at smaller sizes without separating the figure from the country.
Montserrat carries the practical information. Cormorant Garamond adds the heritage note. Together they let a 27-year operator feel established without making the digital product feel old.
Shown from the filed delivery exports. The colour differences between the guideline deck, logo files and live site remain a documented handover item, so this page does not invent a single “approved” palette.
What we found
The first thing we did was crawl the old site, because you cannot rebuild what you have not counted. Each square below is one page as we found it. Use the buttons to see what was wrong with it — then see what replaced it.
Every page the old WordPress site served, as found in May 2026. Hover any dot to see the page it was.
230of 230
Every dot is one real URL from the May 2026 crawl of the old site, with its real status code — hover to read it. Counts are computed from that file, not written by hand.
What we built
Twenty-seven years of reputation was sitting in links, bookmarks and search results pointing at the old pages. The job was to rebuild without dropping any of it.
93
The old site had grown three near-identical sections for the same trips. We kept what earned its place, merged the rest, and cut the pages nobody had ever visited.
90
Every link anyone has ever shared, printed or bookmarked now lands on the right new page instead of an error. That is where a rebuild usually loses its reputation, and it is the part nobody sees.
0
Twenty-six pages were returning errors when we found them, including one on tourist visas. Every one is either fixed or forwarded.
1 sec
Rebuilt on Next.js and Sanity so the team can edit trips themselves, without a developer and without the site slowing down as they add more.
Measurement status
The site is launched and the technical work is checkable today. What is not available yet is performance: a WordPress-to-Next.js move with 90 redirects wobbles for weeks, and reading rankings inside that window would tell you about the migration, not about the business.
The migration volatility window closes around October 2026, which is also when Google Search Console holds enough post-launch history to compare like with like. The numbers worth publishing then are organic sessions against the WordPress baseline, enquiries by channel, and whether the India and Bangladesh pages earn impressions at all. Until then this page shows the build, because the build is the part that is true.

Every one of these ran in-house. The people who scoped Nepal Holiday Makers are the people who built it — there is no account layer between the pitch and the work.
